Purpose & Role Description

The Research & Education Volunteer's goal is to assist Infant Massage USA in compiling relevant, evidence-based research and statistics to promote nurturing touch, infant massage and related topics. 

Projects may include creating education content, identifying and partnering with researchers, data entry and reading/summarizing research articles and statistics.
  • Find and review research articles using guidelines from Infant Massage USA
  • Find and review articles and websites for statistics that relate to Infant Massage USA topics
  • Add research to Infant Massage USA's Research Database, summarizing and adding keywords
  • Draft content related to research and statistics
  • Participate in Research & Education Committee
  • Work with staff, Trainers and other Infant Massage USA Members or Advisors to assist with additional projects for the Research & Education Committee.


Skills / Qualifications

  • Interest in research and statistics
  • Basic computer skills, including use of email, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets etc) and audio/video conferencing
  • General understanding of how to review research articles and statistics and assess with critical thinking
  • Clear writing skills
  • Content creation or document design helpful but not required


Training / Support

  • This role will receive training on the current research and statistics guidelines
  • All Infant Massage USA Volunteers receive a Volunteer Guide to outline our policies and procedures and video introduction
  • Infant Massage USA staff are available for ongoing support
